The first Windows 8 Developer Preview build has been made available for download by Microsoft for all the Windows enthusiasts. Microsoft has been successful in keeping Windows 8 safe from leaking and it would not be wrong to say that the wait for first official preview build was worth it, as all the awesome features of Windows 8 are present in it, the demo of which Microsoft gave today at Build conference.
Every machine that can run Windows 7 would be able to run Windows 8 developer preview without any problem. Below are given the specs for running Windows 8:
- 1 Gigahertz (GHz) or faster 32-bit (x86) or 64-bit (x64) processor
- 1 Gigabyte (GB) RAM (32-bit) or 2 GB RAM (64-bit)
- 16 GB available hard disk space (32-bit) or 20 GB (64-bit)
- DirectX 9 graphics device with WDDM 1.0 or higher driver
- To take advantage of the touch input a screen that supports multi-touch is needed
If you want to install Windows 8 Developer Preview you would have to burn ISO files on DVD. Windows Disc Image Burner can be used which is with Windows 7.
