The Xbox 360 has been with us for nearly six years now. Even with Kinect supposedly lengthening the life span of the system, this is around the time we hear whispers of the next generation of consoles. Raise a hand to your ear; those whispers start here.
LinkedIn has listed several new jobs at Microsoft that suggest the giant is at work on the next Xbox. The company is looking for a Graphics Hardware Architect to work with a team that heads up next gen hardware, a Senior Architect and Performance Engineer for the Xbox Console Architecture Group, and a Senior Hardware Design Verification Engineer that will work on the current 360 and new consoles going forward.
That’s some pretty solid confirmation right there. It may be early on, but we’re excited to see what kind of power the next Xbox will bring us, and if it’ll look anything like what Epic has in mind.
