After a month of intense competition, the 3DMark 11 Overclocking Challenge jointly organized by Futuremark and MSI came to a successful conclusion on January 4, 2011. The high level of interest in the competition, which attracted top overclockers from around the world with Elmor from Sweden eventually emerging on top, was evidenced by the more than 110,000 submissions and 600,000 views. Liquid nitrogen cooling was used to overclock the core/memory frequency of a MSI N480GTX Lighting to an extreme of 1375/5200 MHz, setting a new record of P9277 for a single-core graphics card and the highest benchmark registered since 3DMark 11 was released!

The benchmark surpassed the previous record of P9213 set by a GeForce GTX 580, showing that superior MSI design and high-quality components are needed to truly unleash the full power of graphics cards! In the Best Performance vs. Cost category, TeamChina from China took the top spot with a score of 34.43 using the GeForce GTX 460, leaving no doubt that the GeForce GTX 460 graphics card's success is due to consumers recognizing its unbeatable performance vs. cost ratio.
